27 things in 27 years
Excerpted from http://winnerdynamics.com/wisdom-of-life/

- Know absolutely why you are doing what you are doing now. If the reason doesn’t make you happy, improve.
- You cannot fail if you don’t start. But you would have failed to grasp the opportunity to make your life better.
- Align your head and your heart. The best of decisions, is both logical and feels right.
For example, it is logical to take up a better paying job, but you might have a weird feeling that you will not like it. Conversely, it might feel good to pursue your passion, but always keep in mind how much you need to make to pay the bills. - If you can be smarter, wiser, better than tomorrow, you already are. Don’t beat yourself up if you aren’t where you want to be now. If you have done your very best, just give time for change to take place.
- It doesn’t matter who is more right, or who is more wrong. What matters is have we learned something so that we can do better in the future?
- If you want to be a leader, ask yourself if you will do what you say, even when no one is looking.
- Some people will follow your lead. Some people won’t. So What? Don’t waste your time and energy trying to convince the 80% who don’t yet follow you. Start with what you already have, and build your base from there.
- When you blame others, you are saying that you are not responsible, and you have no influence over the situation you are in. Don’t complain because you have already given up your power.
- There is a difference between “I want to do it” and “I have to do it”. When you want to, it is a choice you make. When you have to, it is a responsibility. When you choose what you want, you will not blame another.
- Don’t complain about how deep a hole you are in, you are partially responsible for where you are now. Take accountability. Look, if you are not hungry now, you have more capability than you think, to change your situation.
- Being conscious is the ability to notice the things that are happening around you, seeing the relationship between your actions and your results. The key to successful business, career, relationship and self development lies in how conscious you are. The more conscious you are, the more accountable you become, the more you know how to influence your results positively.
- Knowing 15 steps ahead of how to reach your goal is not as good as doing the 1 step right in front of you. So go ahead, just start. Do it!
- Notice what you have been procrastinating on. The very thing we procrastinate on, is often the most important of thing we need to do now.
- Less is more. When you want something done, or want to see a change, communicate one idea at a time. Write shorter emails. The human mind is only capable of handling five to nine chunks of information at any one time. You want people to know what you want, don’t you?
- The fastest way to learn something, is to teach what you have just learned.
- When don’t feel good, take a few deep breaths, and exhale slowly.
- How you see yourself is more important than how others look at you. If you look at the mirror and you don’t admire the person looking back at you, then you have quite some inner work to do.
- Whether you think you are half glass empty or half glass full, you are both right. But is that important? Or what you can do now is more important?
- People who don’t see the power in themselves, they say no and then explain themselves so hard, in fear of how others will look at them. Look, we co-exist on this Earth with everyone else around us. If you will trust yourself to be reasonable and responsible about your choices; no one has the right to say you are wrong, bad or unworthy.
- We are all wired to want acceptance. It is a confirmation that we matter. So nod your head at each person whose glance meets yours. It is a small gesture of kindness that I acknowledge your existence. You will never know how good the person might feel.
- When you say Yes, you are not just making a commitment to someone else. Ultimately, you are making a commitment to yourself. It doesn’t matter how small or unimportant the commitment is. What matters is how you deliver, follow-up and honor the commitments you have made to yourself. Because how you do anything is how you do everything.
- When people crossed your path in a way you did not like, understand that it is seldom personal. They could be fighting a hard battle on their own, or thought that no one understood them. You might not be able to do them any favour, but at least do yourself a favour.
- It is ok to criticize. Just remember to tell the person how he can do better next time.
- It takes a lot of time and energy to worry. Use that energy to think about what you can do, and do it instead.
- If you squeeze yourself so hard just to love someone, you are actually creating more pain for the person to see you like this. When you take good care of yourself, you are in an ever better position to love others and influence their lives to be better.
- Sleep is one of those things that people are willing to sacrifice. But it is also one of those things we need to keep us alive.
- Wisdom is about doing the right thing at the right time. You need to know when to push yourself to run that 1 extra mile, and when to stop so that your body don’t get hurt. The key to wisdom lies in awareness. But I can’t really tell you the definite A-Z in wisdom. You need to experience it yourself. It is your own wisdom.

God works
God works in a mysterious way. I really hate to admit that God exists and works for us. But...in some cases, I have to believe it since I do experience it.
and I kinda hate it when God answers rather than grants my prayer.

Motivational
Okay...so one day I was eating in Burger King with my colleagues and we were talking about PR, CPF, housing, and other stuff.
Then popped up a statement that might come off as simple but meaningful,"...naturally you do not want to be the same as what you were 5 years ago..."
Must Move Forward.
Must Be Able To Make A Change.
Must Have More Actions Instead Of Just Words and Whining In A Blog.

Yet another post about happiness
I've been in a journey to happiness in my life for not so long (maybe 2 or 3 years?).
Maybe happiness is not meant to be searched. Maybe happiness is meant to be created by ourselves, by our behavior, our attitude, and our actions .
Then I stumble upon this awkward moment when I start to realize that:
Classic? Definitely. Cliche? Of course. But those kind of words will not mean anything to you until you experience it yourself.
The journey will continue nevertheless but it should no more be a journey to search for happiness instead it is a journey to create happiness.

Christmas in 2011
It's christmas time of the year again for 2011!!. It has been almost half of the christmas month but somehow there is not much emotional feelings felt in this year's christmas. I have my early christmas gifts. I enjoy Orchard's christmas decorations as well as the Christmas Tree. I enjoy the atmosphere. Still not as much emo feeling compared to 2010's Christmas. Maybe it means I am quite content with the Christmas? Or it may also mean I do not care enough about the importance and happiness of Christmas this year. Maybe I am happy enough with my current condition that I do not need Christmas festive atmosphere to cheer me up. If it is so...then that is a sad fact :(.

Fragrance
I have always been careful in selecting the fragrance because I can say I am quite sensitive in olfactory area. Thus I must be comfortable with my fragrance-related toiletries.
But just recently I made a mistake in buying an eau de toilette. Damn it. Now thinking of either selling or giving it out to relatives.

Sentimental
I am now trying to hold less sentimental value to things that I cherish the most.
I am hoping that by doing this, I will not be affected so much emotionally and physically by those things.
It's a rather childish act but still I will give it a go and see how effective it can be in changing my life.
I am feeling bad though to start doing this in Christmas time.
PS: yeah it is another post to vent out emotional dynamics. Not in any means be useful or understandable by others.

NUS Module Year 4 Sem 2
Year 4 Sem 2 (Jan-June, 2010)
EE2013 - Matlab and Labview for Electrical Engineers - 4MC
Okay, I had in total 5 EE modules for last semester and it really drove me crazy. First is EE2013. I like this module since it is mainly about programming and it is pretty simple, unlike those of CS1101C or CS1102C. The lecturers are good and helpful in explaining. There will be no final exam but there are CAs to clear including in-class quiz and projects. Projects are basically distributed into various assignments and exercises in class.
EE4401 - Optoelectronics - 4MC
This module is about optical electronics and semiconductor. It is similar to EE2004 but it is just more difficult due to all the equations involved. There is one final exam worth 50% and CAs which include homeworks and labs. Lectures was given in tutorial class and there is a webcast available (my lecturer that time was Mansoor Jalil). Can't say much except to study hard for this module.
EE4411 - Silicon Processing Technology - 4MC
This is actually a pretty fun module because I can learn more about how semiconductor was constructed with less regard to all equations, formulas, and calculations. The calculations involved here are not as difficult as other modules although definitely not something to be underestimated. The tough part is about memorizing all the facts and processes involved in this silicon manufacturing. There is one final exam and two labs for scoring.
EE4415 - Integrated Circuit Design - 4MC
It is a module about circuit design. There is one exam worth 60% and one project worth 40%. The project is about designing a circuit using a VHDL/verilog program. There is a lab manual that will guide you step-by-step through the projects. Basically follow through the steps, try all the tasks, answers all the questions in the end of the manual. The questions will then be your lab report. The module itself divided by 2. First half is about VHDL and 2nd half is about CMOS design. More physics kind of calculation in the second half.
EE4001 - Dissertation - 12MC
Continuation of last semester FYP. For this 2nd semester, I assisted in creating an animated 3D model. It was not as easy as it sounds since there were 2 parts involved i.e. making model and model animation. Creating 3D model required us to build the model from a simple object like box or sphere and mold it into various shape. Then there will be 'bone' added to the molding for movement which will be used for animations later. And we need to 'color' the model using skinning. For animation part, we can either make an animation ourselves by sequencing each act and motion of the model. We do not really need to prepare the model's motion second by second. Basically we only need to know the initial and final position of the model for each sequence and the software will do the rest. Easier way is of course to use the template animation but we need to know how to apply it to the model.

NUS Module Year 4 Sem 1
Year 4 Sem 1 (Aug-Dec, 2009)
CS3241 - Computer Graphics - 4MC
This module is about creating computer graphics and animation. I did learn a lot about how animation, camera, and 3D stuffs are made during this module. A very fun module especially with the great lecturer Dr. Michael S. Brown. There are 2 'mini-exams' worth 20% each. 4 or 5 programming assignments worth 45% in total. And finally a small in class quiz worth 15%. I cannot say the programming was hard, in fact Dr. Brown gave us a few hint. The trick was in making the bells and whistles.
LAJ1201 - Japanese 1 - 4MC
This module is about learning japanese language as the name suggests. Majority of scoring was taken with tutorial's assignment and there were 3 tutorials! There are a lot of homeworks to do. Basically you need to keep practicing the language everyday to make your life easier so as not to do a lot of memorizing. There is one final exam for this module. Overall learning japanese has been a great experience personally due to my interest in it.
EE3407 - Analog Electronics - 4MC
Analog Electronics was a difficult module for me. No mid-exams to check on how you had progressed and to evenly distribute the scoring. There were only lab assignments and tutorials. So Final Exam is your dead/alive judgement for this module. The module itself is mainly about amplifiers. Power amplifiers, instrumentation amplifiers, also filters. One of the lab assignments was to create an instrumentation amplifiers.
EE3408 - Integrated Analog Design - 4MC
It is a 'similar' module with EE3407 in the sense that we are learning about amplifiers too here. But EE3408 is more similar to EE2005 (transistors, CMOS, nMOS, pMOS). There is one major project here in which we have to design an amplifier circuits that can met specific requirements (ex: my circuit that time needed to generate frequency response both for open-loop and closed-loop design). Also there is one final exam to pass the module.
EE4001 - Dissertation - 12MC
Here is my FYP. My topic was 'Interactive Design and Development of Multiplayer Computer Games'. Such a chim topic, I know. Basically in this FYP i needed to assist a graduate student in doing his interactive game project. I was not even close to making a full game in this FYP. The game project was an online multiplayer game that has user-motion features for interactivity, much similar to Xbox's Kinect or PS3's Move. During that time though, our only commercial competitor was Nintendo Wii (provided we did succeed). During this semester, I helped him to create the GUI for the game.
